Biography: On my first overseas trip at 19 with my best friend I said, "sure, that'd be great" when two Americans we were travelling with through Laos asked if they could drop us at Bangkok Airport. By day's end I was deported to Rangoon and my friend to Colombo. We didn't know we needed a visa to enter the Bangkok airport after landing in a private plane. When I eventually found my own way home I realised how exciting a life spent travelling could be and have travelled overseas every year since. I have had twelve travel articles published and hold a Masters of Arts (Writing & Literature). I am currently a PhD student researching narrative identity in female expatriates as I have lived in about ten countries, the most recent being two years in Denmark.
